Job Creation: Gahaya Links has trained and continues to train over 4,000 rural women (and men) in Rwanda. Weavers are encouraged to save a percentage of their earning through their respective cooperatives. The savings are later used to provide basics in their homes or to start a small business of their choice.   In 2008, the ministry of labour in Rwanda named Gahaya Links as the “Best Job Creator on a national level

Unity and Reconciliation: Since weavers are of various backgrounds, Gahaya Links supplements government efforts to sensitize weavers on unity and reconciliation. The 1994 genocide was as a result of ethnic hatred. So women and men are taught how to live, work together and love each other.

Contribution to National Economical Development: In 2007, Gahaya Links was recognized by the government (Rwanda Revenue Authority) as the “Best Taxpayer” of the year. The company continues to pay all its tax obligations promptly.  More to that, Gahaya links contributes, substantially, to the government export revenues through its exports. In 2008 the Rwanda Development Board awarded the company “Best Exporter” of the year.
